Spearfishing Pelagic fish in the Gulf of Mexico
Offshore spearfishing pelagic fish is the pinnacle of targeting apex predators in the Gulf of Mexico. We are blessed with a huge diversity in species to target ranging from Tuna, Wahoo, African Pompano, and Mahi Mahi just to name a few. Our bluewater charters are for experienced hunters chasing the fish of a lifetime. Your charter will include an in-water guide, all required bluewater equipment / guns as well as bait.
While the Gulf of Mexico provides for an abundance of fish it also does have its challenges. Unlike the Florida Keys and other locations, bluewater spearfishing charters on the west coast od the Gulf of Mexico typically require long runs to the fishing grounds. However there is almost no where else on earth where you can target trophies of such a huge diversity from Yellowfin Tuna to giant Cubera Snapper in the same day.
While not required, we strongly recommend any freediver booking a bluewater charter with us have the ability to comfortably freedive 50 feet in to maximize your experience and opportunities to shoot the fish of a lifetime.
Wreck and Reef Freediving
The central west coast of Florida provides one of the most abundant fisheries in the world. We are blessed with countess miles of reef, rock, and artificial structures in range of any level of spearo. Depending on the time of year and your abilities we can put you on fish ranging from schools of Cobia in 8 feet water, Grouper, Snapper and Hogfish in 30 feet, to 50+ lb Carbo’s and Cubera’s in 90 feet of pristine natural reef in the Florida Middle Grounds.
From 0 to about 50 miles out from our home port in Hernando Beach, in any given direction, is a literal ocean of rock piles and reef structures providing amazing days out diving for any skill level of free diver, from those first getting started an only comfortable in shallow water, to those 2% freedive crushers that can hunt in more than 100 feet of water. We are blessed to have it all right in our back yard.
From 50 to 80 miles out we have endless swiss cheese bottom and dozens of shipwrecks that hold a vast fishery for those that seek to dive deep for their quarry.
Beyond 80 miles we have the Florida Middle Grounds offering over 400 square miles of the most beautiful and pristine reef on the planet not to mentions the shipwrecks. Because of our home port in Hernando Beach we have the closest access to the middle grounds available anywhere in the Gulf as we are only 80 miles from the southeastern tip. As a result we are able to offer extended day trips as well as overnight trips to this fish mecca.
Scuba Spearfishing
We offer both freediving and scuba spearfishing charters. These trips are offered to all experience levels. Diver and marine life safety is our top priority which is why all our charters include an in water guide. Leave the logistics and planning to us so you can focus on having your best day on the water and landing the fish of a lifetime.
We are blessed with one of the most abundant fisheries in the world. We have countess miles of reef, rock, and artificial structures in range of any level of diver. Depending on the time of year and your abilities we can put you on the fish ranging from 15 to 250 feet of water including access to the coveted Florida Middle Grounds encompassing more than 400 square miles of some of the best diving on earth.
